Protecting Our Clients From Email Impersonation Scams

Recently, a number of website designers and creative agencies—ours included—have seen an increase in scammers impersonating legitimate Squarespace professionals. These individuals create lookalike Gmail accounts and attempt to contact clients under false pretences, often asking for access, payments, or sensitive information.

Your security and trust matter to us, so we want to make sure you know exactly how to stay safe.

🔐 How to Verify You’re Speaking With Us

We will only contact you from our official email addresses: sandra@sodacreekdigital.com or hello@sodacreekdigital.com.

If you ever receive an email from a Gmail address or any variation that looks “close” to ours, please treat it as suspicious. Do not reply, click links, or share information.

🚨 What to Do if You Receive a Suspicious Email

If you receive an email that appears to impersonate us or another Squarespace designer:

1. Report it to Squarespace’s phishing team

Forward the message to: reportphishing@squarespace-security.com.

Squarespace uses these reports to investigate and shut down fraudulent activity across the platform.

2. Use your email provider’s “Report Spam” or “Report Phishing” feature

This helps Google, Outlook, and other providers block the sender and flag the account for review.

3. Forward the email to us

We’ll confirm whether it’s legitimate and take steps to report it on our end to Google and any other applicable authorities.
